The Oldest Profession in the World: What Coaching Can Teach Us About the Essence of Being Human

From the creation of the world, coaching has connected people in moments of instruction and growth. A great coach must have a thorough understanding of where their learner is, 它们应该在哪里?, and the skills necessary to get there. In our modern world of a thousand distractions, what can the art of coaching teach us about finding success in the things that really matter?

Rodd Strobel, chair of the Department of 健康 and Physical Education and assistant professor, has long been fascinated with the role of coaching as a way to support growth in others.

As a physical educator for over 30 years, Strobel is convicted of the interdependence of physical, 精神, and spiritual growth. In Ellen White’s book Education, she says that educational institutions are to “send forth men strong to think and to act, men who are masters and not slaves of circumstances, men who possess breadth of mind, clearness of thought, and the courage of their convictions.”
